One Vote Many Prayers

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Timothy 2:1

We the people of the United States of America are at a very critical point in our history.  You and I have an opportunity to impact this nation through the act of voting and the power of prayer.  I speak these words not with intellectual wisdom but simple faith, taking God at His word.  On November 4th, this nation will elect their next President and that person will lead us for the next four years, good or bad!

As men and women of faith we must be obedient to God and His word.  We are urged by the Apostle Paul to pray and pray we must.  Each of us has been given the opportunity to cast our vote for the person we believe can do the best job of leading this nation.  God has given each of us one vote that we can cast on that all important day.  Your one vote is important, but your prayers are critical!

Prayer can not only change a human life but can also change the course of a nation.  As you look at this great country what do you see?  More important than that, what does God see?  We need to look deep within ourselves and cry out to God for His great mercy to fall upon this land.  As God’s people we have a responsibility and a call to humble ourselves and pray (2 Chronicles 7:14).  The world in which we live has no real answers to the problems we face.  This is not an economy issue, this is a heart issue.  We must pray like never before and trust that the God of the universe will hear those prayers and will heal our land.

Our hope is not found in a political party, our hope is found in a man.  This man is not seeking the votes of this nation but the hearts of every man, women and child.  Heaven has already appointed Him King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Your vote won’t elect Him but your prayers will touch Him.  His name is Jesus and He stands for truth.  May our prayers reflect the reality of what we really see taking place in this country.  America needs change and not just in Washington, but in the hearts of all who call America their home.  This nation will change when the people change, may it start with you and me.

Your one vote might help elect the next president, your prayers could help change the course of this nation!

My suggestion to you, do both!
